System Administrator, CITRIX and VDI Administrator

This is a full-time contract position in the Data Center Services organization (JND) which supports the Infrastructure Services Organization (JN) within the IT department located at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) headquarters in Portland, OR. The System Administrator is responsible for operations, maintenance and support of BPA Citrix and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment. These responsibilities include support for connected customers, presented applications/desktops and authorized peripherals.
Position Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Serve as a System Administrator - performing setup, installation, and maintenance of servers in an enterprise Information Technology (IT) environment.
Support customers directly; resolving desktop, application and related hardware challenges in a Citrix shared desktop / VDI environment.
Support various thin client devices used as a platform to connect to centralized applications and desktops.
Install and administer Microsoft Operating Systems including planning and implementation of patches supplied by vendors for security and bug fixes.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems as they occur, taking a proactive approach to resolve issues before they become major problems.
Serve as a technical advisor to BPA users and professionals and maintain open positive communications with clients.
Support disaster recovery and ensure continuous availability of virtual desktops and applications critical to the organization
Troubleshoot hardware and system level problems.
Build XenServer guest configurations for appropriate use case.
Participate in a regular rotation providing on call support for Citrix and VDI services.
Position Requirements:
Education/
Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Information/Computer Technology or a related technical discipline is preferred. (Associates degree in a directly-related technical discipline can be substituted for 2 years required experience; Bachelor's degree in a directly-related technical discipline can substitute for 4 years related experience - see below).
This is a Level 2 position: 5 - 9 years of Computer Technology experience or equivalent experience in a directly-related field is required (3-7 years with Associate's degree, as specified above; 2 years with Bachelor's degree, as specified above).

years direct work experience supporting users in Citrix 5.0
or Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environment with ability to install and support software applications in a multiuser setting is required.
Demonstrable understanding of Windows security groups and effective grasp of NTFS permissions is required.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP is required.
Knowledge of and experience with server virtualization technologies such as ESX, Hyper-V, Xen, KVM and Virtual Box is required.
General Requirements:
Citrix Certified Associate, Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Technology Associate, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or similar certifications are desired.
Experience with PowerShell, batch/cmd files or other scripting / automation method is desired.
Excellent communication skills in both writing and oral on technical subjects
Additional Requirements:
Provide on-call and backup support for existing systems and functions. Location for on-call and backup support may be at BPA facilities or off-site. Required to carry a BPA supplied cell phone/pager and work non-core hours when requested.
Offsite work, other than the required/assigned on call duties, requires completion of a Supplemental Labor Offsite Work Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Offsite work must be approved by the BPA manager prior to the work being performed.
All information associated with work performed offsite must be maintained in the BPA network environment. No BPA information will be allowed to be transmitted, stored, and created, etc., on the contract worker's personal devices. Contract personnel must follow all BPA and government-wide security, asset management, and cyber security policies and procedures.
In the Event of a Continuity of Operations Program (COOP) / Disaster Recovery (DR) exercise or incident, the contract worker will be required to work offsite to provide production support per roles and responsibilities outlined in the BPA Organizational COOP Plans.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
